While the Sarasota area may not be the least expensive place to retire, the cost of living is quite low in comparison to much of the US. Sarasota Memorial Hospital is ranked as the fifth best hospital in Florida and in the top 100 nationally according to a US News Report.  Venice was rated by a Forbes Report  in the top 25 places to retire in 2014.

Housing: There are lots of choices when it comes to finding a great retirement home including condominiums, as well as maintenance-free homes and villas where all exterior maintenance (lawn care, etc) is taken care of, leaving plenty of time to enjoy all that Sarasota has to offer.
